Customer Data Return (5I9)

Customer Data Return (5I9)

The Customer Data Return application lets customers download SAP business data, including archiving data, from SAP S/4HANA cloud systems to a local system. The data can be exported from database tables or CDS views using the Customer Data Return – Extraction app.

The files can be downloaded in a compressed format that contains the data in XML or CSV format. The data can be downloaded using the Customer Data Return – Provisioning app or the Inbound OData service. The latter option can be used to download ZIP files (prepared using the Customer Data Return – Extraction app) to a local machine or third-party storage.

The Customer Data Return application requires two types of business users to complete the preparation and download the data files.  One business user triggers the file preparation in the data extraction process. The other triggers the file download in the data provisioning process.
